Run, Walk, Run your way to longer distances

No one wants to enter a race that they are afraid they can't finish or end up at the back of the pack. Did you ever wonder how long it would take you to run a 5k, 10k, half, or full marathon? This question has haunted runners (especially beginners) for years.

Olympian Jeff Galloway has got you covered. He calls it the "Magic Mile" which is his quick and easy formula that will tell you how long it will take you to run longer distances based on your one mile pace.

This formula works for beginner runners and seasoned veterans, as well as runners involved in interval training. To check it out click here.

Galloway is  big proponent of the Run, Walk, Run method of training. According to Jeff, those who want to average 8 minutes per mile in a race can do so by setting your Gymboss timer to:

4:00 RUN
0:35 WALK
6 Rounds

He has a handy chart that will tell you how to set up your timer for anywhere from an 8 to 16 minute/mile pace. Check out the full article and chart here.
