How long should you Rest Between Sets?

How long you rest between sets is a decision for you to make, but timing that rest is our business. Depending on what your goals are you may want to rest 30, 45, 60, or 90 seconds, or even 2, 3, 4, or 5 minutes. The good news is our Gymboss timers can do any timing job easily and accurately. In fact, you can set them to time any time period you desire from 2 sec to 99 minutes.

Set your Gymboss interval timer to your desired rest period for 1 round in vibrate mode. Clip to your waist, when you finish a set start the timer, when the vibrate alarm occurs start another set. Loud environment or music is no problem as the vibrate will not be missed.

A lot of research has been done on rest between sets, but consideration to the amount of time you have to workout is just as important. If the workout is too long and interrupts your daily schedule, you just may skip it, which is not for your best interest in the long run.
